I'm Flapping

I'm here today to demonstrate the perfect attitude
I'm sorry I'm in a bad mood
I'm here today to elucidate upon the topic of self-esteem
I'm inclined instead to dream

that this is not my soul
and this is not my face
I'm flapping from a different pole
in a higher place

I'm here today to make every employee a model of efficiency
listen to but don't look at me
I'm here today to bestow a purpose on all the little chores you do
we all need a reason to follow through

but this is not my soul
and this is now my face

once I had a specialty
I'm afraid that it's abandoned me
a gift from heaven given free

I gave it up for a speaker's fee
I could go on regretfully
what good would it do anybody
this time belongs to the company
so I'll shut up and do my duty
do my duty do

I'm here today to give everybody a chance to take the floor
when I'm finished and not before
I'm here to show you that you can be as big a success as me
I'm sure some of you must be
